Feel the art

Misty's Art is a journey of discovery, a testament to the power of creative expression. I hope that after browsing my gallery, you feel a profound connection to the art and that it inspires you in your own unique way. Every emotion evoked is a triumph.

My name is Misty Parks. I am an untrained artist who is seeking to connect with my local art scene

My husband, daughter, cat, and dog are here in Chico, CA. I am a transplant to California.

I have been struggling with physical disabilities for several years now, and I have used my art as a form of natural therapy, which has blossomed into a full-blown passion. I am driven to create and encourage others. I have only recently gotten brave enough to let others view my art.

My medium is usually acrylic, but I have experimented with several other media, such as jewelry-making and sculpting. I don't have formal training, but I have a natural affinity for the arts.

A few more 'deets

* I usually paint while on my bed, with the canvas on my lap and paints beside me.

This is because I have had 8 different knee surgeries in the past 18 months and cannot stand or sit on a chair for long periods. Art reminds me that beauty can come from pain. But pain must be appreciated too.

* I like to write too. I have had a few poems published in the past, and I love to share them.

I’m not sure what else to share, as I am not too great at talking about myself like this. BUT thank you for reading!
