Minnie and me
Just being close to this girl and closing my eyes for a few seconds, refreshes me on really hard days. She is so squishy and warm! I can't even express how grateful that I am to be loved by this animal.
Welcome to my world of art! Discover my story, my passion, and how creativity helps me navigate life's challenges. I'm excited to share my work and connect with you.

Hello. My name is Misty Parks. I am an untrained artist looking to connect with my fellow artists. I am a transplant to California. My medium is usually acrylic, but I have experimented with several other media, such as jewelry-making and sculpting.
I have been struggling with physical disabilities for several years now, and I have used my art as a form of natural therapy, which has blossomed into a full-blown passion. I am driven to create and encourage others. I have only recently gotten brave enough to let others view my art. I also want to learn more all the time.
I’m not sure what else to share, as I am not too great at talking about myself like this. BUT thank you for reading!

My primary medium is acrylic, but I love to experiment with other forms like jewelry making and sculpting. Despite not having formal training, I have a natural affinity for the arts. A unique aspect of my process is that I often paint from my bed, with the canvas on my lap and paints beside me. This is due to having had 8 knee surgeries in the past 18 months, which makes standing or sitting in a chair for long periods challenging. Art reminds me that beauty can emerge from pain, and that pain itself holds its own unique beauty.

Through my art, I hope to stir emotion in others. Any feeling my art evokes in a viewer is a triumph for me. Whether it's joy, contemplation, or even a sense of shared understanding, I believe art has the power to connect us on a deeper level. I aim to constantly learn and grow as an artist, and I'm eager to connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.
